Combining forms of American and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, Judo and submission grappling, Jiu Jitsu prepares students for self-defense and competitions through un-armed combat. Skills that are learned include takedowns, submissions on the upper and lower halves of the body, joint locks, chokes and sweeps. These tools will show students how to defend and attack simultaneously from basics level to advanced. Some classes will be held in the “Gi” or kimono, which is utilized for gripping and wrapping your opponent up. Other classes will be “No Gi” which is more similar to wrestling in attire (board shorts and compression shirts).
Muay Thai kickboxing, also known as “The Art of Eight Limbs,” is a stand-up striking sport that uses a combination of throwing punches, elbows, knees and kicks at your opponent. Muay Thai also emphasizes clinches, throws and sweeps. Cardio, the use of heavy bags and floor work with a partner are all included.
Boxing is a combat sport with a specific focus of throwing punches while utilizing proper stance and footwork. Strikes are primarily aimed to focus on the head and upper half of the body. It is fast-paced, cardio involved and boxing fights are usually held in a ring.
You don’t have to be a fighter to get into fighting shape! Our boxing program is designed for people just like you who want to learn real boxing techniques while getting in the best shape of their life.
Our coaches have helped people of all ages, experience, and fitness levels reach their goals- and beyond.
We start our youth and teens Jiu Jitsu program at 6 years old and our Muay Thai program at 10 years old. Your children will learn a combination of Gi and No Gi Jiu Jitsu. In Muay Thai, we will focus on drilling concepts with combos, positional striking and kicking. We strive to make their time with us purposeful, disciplined, fun and safe with primary focuses on inclusivity, equality, building self-esteem, confidence, strength and endurance, team work and skill. Our instructors have experience in working with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism and more.
Because MMA has traditionally been known as a male-dominated sport, we want to make sure that our women are 100% supported and feel empowered to take class regularly, recognize their strengths and start to feel comfortable in potentially uncomfortable situations. Our women's program is run by women, for women. Currently, we offer a women's only Jiu Jitsu class monthly with plans to make it more regular in the near future. Stay on the lookout!
